Abandoned by her mother at her father's place in 2018 at the age of 3, her father dropped her at her grandmother's home in Kawempe one of the biggest slums in Kampala. Her grandmother raised her though she lost her job and only survives on handouts from her other children. Jolin had dropped out of school because her father could not support her in school.
