2019/10 Uganda report

2019/10/Uganda report

2019/10 / Uganda report
Hello. How are you guys? It was a miracle, I (Satoru) honestly had no finances^^; at all, but with the support for travel expenses by Izumi Christ Glory Church in Sakai City Osaka Japan, I left for Kampala Africa on September 24 with four other people and returned home on the evening of October 9. I am sorry for reporting so late about our trip to Uganda. Upon my return I was recovering for a week , due the long trip and some illness.

First of all, I would like to talk about meeting Ester and the children of Tine.
In August of 2018 , when I visited Kampala, there were 30 orphans living in 2 separate facilities. Each facility had 15 children each. One was the church house in Kyengera villagehttp://helpchild.jp/orphanage/ (pastor Ben was given $100 per month to take care of 15 children and given another $100 for food). The other facility was a house around Lake Victoriahttp://helpchild.jp/orphanage-2/ (the owner was Paul and Christine's house) and the same, $100 per month and $100 for food). The total was $400 USD per month being needed.

In the meanwhile, Ester purchased land and started building an orphanage in Kyengera village in the fall with a donation from SFBC. (The house Ester originally liked went up in price, so she bought land elsewhere.) At the same time, Ester moved to a new apartment in Makindye Division. She gathered 15 children from Ben’s place and 15 people from Christine’s place and they all moved into a new place together. (Correct here. I misunderstood this apartment as a current rented house. I will fix the site at a later date. At that time, this corrected article will be deleted.)

(During this trip I also was able to see this apartment too. You can see it in the video featuring the veranda fence and the children celebrating Christmas 2018 and it is visible from the street.) http://helpchild.jp/thank-you-report/

Then in January 2019, Moses found a better place (current) very near. Again Ester and everyone moved out of the apartment into the current apartment.

The current living quarters is close to the previous place. I could walk there easily. It's a very good place. It is close to kindergartens and schools. It has a big gate and separated from the streets. A car can pass through the gate. You can see it in the picture below. There is a plaza where children can freely play and study. The square is larger than a 50m pool. There is a well next to it. It comes with a faucet. (It's not a hand pumped style!)

Moving history: ----------------------------------------------

2018/8 15+15 children divided

2018/11 30 The apartment

2019/1 46 Now Rented house

2020/? New orphanage (added)  Is it over 100 people in total⁈

(Men's room: about 20 people sleeping here. The girls' room was about the same size with about the same number of people. This is 40 people, so there seems to be other places to sleep. It is a rented house)

The rented house is 219USD per month. The electricity bill for water is 28USD per month for a total of 247USD.

The rented house has Jeremiah's room, a girls room, a boys room, a sewing room, hairdressing room, kitchen, central compartment, more than 7 rooms. There was another kitchen outside. So I think this rent is cheap. And it is a convenient place and good environment. (For details, this report is well understood: http://helpchild.jp/2019annual_reporttine/)

By the way, Jeremiah plays a father figure role in the house. He baptized Ester in the past. He leads a healing and evangelism ministry. He will be in Japan for the first time at the end of 2019. You can see him here a senior American man wearing a yellow shirt sitting in the center in the photo. He uses this Uganda house as a base to heal and evangelize villages across Africa.

Now, let's go back to talking about the construction of the new orphanage in Kyengera village. As you know, the orphanage construction was stopped due to lack of funds.

But, God showed an interesting dream to a woman. In the dream was a big ship. The Big ship was expensive. In the dream she heard, "Buy the big ship". After awaking she started collecting donations for the orphanage ( the Big Ship), and at the same time transferred an amount of 4600USD to SFBC. The woman that had the dream is Pastor Yumi of Izumi Christ Glory Church! The monthly SFBC deposits were added to this amount for a total of 5300USD for a donation to start construction of the orphanage again.

At the location of the orphanage building, I handed a "5300 USD document" from SFBC to Ester. Please see the video of that moment. She was very happy. And she confessed that she was always worried about monthly payments and she cried. She spoke to us from the scripture below. Psalm 113: 7-9.

KJV Psalm 113: 7-9
7 He raiseth up the poor out of the dust, and lifteth the needy out of the dunghill;
8 That he may set him with princes, even with the princes of his people.
9 He maketh the barren woman to keep house, and to be a joyful mother of children.Praise ye the Lord.

The money was transferred to the TINE account via the bank after I returned home to Japan. SFBC hopes that children can live soon in the newly built orphanage. Ester's speculation is to have the preschool children live in this orphanage. because, The school is near the rented house.

The distance between this orphanage in Kyengera village and the current rental house in Makindye Division is about 40 minutes by car. It's not far away, but not near either. She purchased this land in Kyengera village because it was cheap.

So, Ester is hoping for provision of a car for moving back and forth between the 2 houses. A car that can carry a lot of children. Currently, they borrow cars from acquaintances and taxis are used when necessary. I understand their feeling of wanting to have a car that can be used freely. A car costs probably about 10000USD.

She also says she envisions "land for making crops". For self-sufficiency and growing crops for sale purposes. She figures about 5 acres would be needed. If possible, she would like to have land nearby Venturer village. 5 acres of land will be over 20000USD in Kyengera village.

There are currently 46 children. (There is also a rumor that there are 57 children. Uganda seems to be generous when talking “numbers”) At the least, we know that there has been an increase of 16 orphans from last summer. I think that when this orphanage is completed, it will exceed 100 people.

When we first heard this plan we logically thought that is way too many children ! We thought, “do not increase the number of children”. About 50 people is enough growth for now.
So we entertained another idea, for example, if we were to sell this orphanage building and its land and we add $5300 that was gathered this time. The total will be about $10000. Then we could have Ester buy about 2 acres of land. That might be better. That's how we thought.

However, when Ester saw us at the partially completed orphanage in Kyengera village, Ester's mind was stuck on completing and using this orphanage. She said, “I want to save more children”. God will support it, she said. God will do great things here this time.

We are always worried about tomorrow. God gave mana every day in the wilderness. What if God forgets mana tomorrow? God says that to worry is to be human. (Matthew 6: 34 Take therefore no thought for the morrow: for the morrow shall take thought for the things of itself. Sufficient unto the day is the evil thereof.) We believe in God and live for today. The next day we saw a child living in the slums, the ghetto. I strongly thought again to myself, “We must save more children”.

SFBC has a new plan to help raise funds. It will participate in GiveSendGo.com, hosted by a Christian organization in the United States. We believe that God will bless Ester and provide

Farewell at Entebbe Airport with volunteers of Izumi Christ Glory Church.

Special Thanks: Pastor Yumi! Hitomi! Nobu! Yuki!
