Volunteer at Kisenii slum in Kampala
At Kisenii slum we distribute food. November 21, 2019. We want to give one meal here every day. However, it is not possible because there is not enough money. It is a pity.
Kisenyi in ghetto. This is where Ester grew up. She was five years old and abandoned here. Already 23 years have passed, but the city has not changed much. ■GoogleMap= 0°18'42.5"N 32°34'18.8"E
Buses and taxis are visible in the rectangle. They are colors such as white, blue and pink. There are many bus terminals around. Several buildings in the center are narrow alleys lined with small shops. Children are sitting and sleeping in one corner of the alley. That is Ghetto. Wikipedia describes it as a densely populated minority in a large city.
There were many boys with “thinners, kerosene cloth and plastic bottles”. It was the children who had a slow eye. There were big to small children. I wanted to tell you this. So I tried to shoot photos and videos. But it was stopped by the Esters. But you can see it on GoogleMap.
This photo is March 2015 (GoogleMap Street View), but it was the same image in October 2019.
This boy was beaten by a big child. He had a "red cloth that seems to contain thinner" in his hand. Ester dumped it on the road. Then she gave him a bag of food. He said he was in this ghetto for 2 years. He said he was abandoned here because of his parents' remarriage. Perhaps this child was abandoned because he was in the way of his parents. Ester said that he would go to his village “at a later date”. And she discusses with his parents. And she said he would return him to his house. We pray that his happiness will come to him.
